8 KClO3 (aq) + CH3COOH (aq) + 8 H2SO4 (aq) → 8 ClO2 (g) + 2 CO2 (g) + 8 KHSO4 (aq) + 6 H2O (l)
This is an oxidation-reduction (redox) reaction:
CII - 2 e- → CIV (oxidation)
C-II - 6 e- → CIV (oxidation)
8 ClV + 8 e- → 8 ClIV (reduction)
CH3COOH is a reducing agent, CH3COOH is a reducing agent, KClO3 is an oxidizing agent.
This is a gas evolution reaction, ClO2 and CO2 is the formed gas.
